I can't really put my finger on it, I just didn't really care lol. I think they made a cute couple, for sure! But I wasn't rooting for them the way I was for the couples in Book 1-3. ❌️ This one is probably more so personal, but I just really didn't feel super invested in their pairing. No need to arrive late and pass out secret messages to everyone lol
If there were just gonna tell everyone, he could have went to the ball like normal lol. It was more so annoying that they hyped it up more than it needed to be. I don't understand why he needed to send all these notes out to everyone when all he was gonna do was out her secret himself. He got it together by the end though thankfully Even though people complained about the men from Books 1-3, I actually found no issue with them personally. However, Colin was a bit much with grabbing her arm like that when he was angry. Which is exactly how she ended up accidentally revealing himself. I think Colin was right to call her out at times, she absolutely was being reckless in my opinion. What I Disliked: ❌️ Both Colin and Penelope were getting on my nerves.
Not the cutest in my opinion, but still cute. ❤️ They were a cute, normal (no trauma) couple. ❤️ Lady Danbury and all the Bridgerton ladies. What I Loved: ❤️I loved Colin standing up for her! This includes the ride back home and DEFINITELY the family meeting/asking her mom for her hand in marriage scene (hands down my favorite part of this book lol) ✅️ Their First Kiss I wouldn't do a full reread of this book (which I did do directly after reading Books 1-3, that's how I know I really liked them), but instead I'd probably reread my favorite parts of this book, including ✅️ Church scene where Colin finds out her secret. But moving on, I think this was a cute book - that's it lol. But let the record show that I think the book's version of both characters is much better, in my humble opinion. If the show wants to do their own version, that's fine.
